aosid's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - i have a poster of the cover of "the great gatsby" hanging over my bed. look it up if you don't know it. for some reason i was compelled to sit and stare at it for a good long while yesterday morning. it's one of those things that i describe by saying "it's just everything." it brings me to some unspecified era of my life when i had the time to brood luxuriously for hours under warm slate rain. there is the impression of being carefully distant from a boardwalk or a theater or a ferris wheel or something. i have some deep ties to those. and the specific blurry distance is crucial to the nostalgia too.
